Recipe for a classic trifle dessert:
Ingredients:
1 store-bought pound cake
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
1 can (21 oz) fruit cocktail, drained
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Directions:
1. Cut the pound cake into small cubes and arrange them in the bottom of a trifle dish.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Pour the mixture over the pound cake.
3. Add the fruit cocktail on top of the pudding layer.
4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.
5. Spread the whipped cream over the fruit cocktail layer.
6. Repeat layering with pound cake, pudding, fruit cocktail, and whipped cream until all ingredients are used up.
7. Top the trifle with fresh berries, if desired.
